Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle

Love Warrior is a book that speaks straight to your soul. I purchased this at McKay's in Nashville at the recommendation of my friend Alice. Glennon Doyle is a speaker that Steve used to work with when this book was first released.

I had it on my shelf for a couple of months and then Alice invited me to go with her to see her speak about her newest book Untamed. I figured that if I was going to see this author speak, I should really read at least part of her book. I finished the entire thing in less than 24 hours.

This was a story about life and addiction, redemption and finding oneself. It was both frightening and moving. I didn't cry, but I was absolutely moved.

This was hands down a five star rating, but what was uniquely special about it, is that it gave me hope again. Hope for my own type of faith. Hope for my own type of god. I don't know what that looks like, but magic was sparking off the pages and speaking directly to my heart.

We did see Glennon speak and her wife Abby was the moderator. This was about a week after the Nashville tornados at the beginning of March and just prior to the country lockdown due to the Covid-19 situation. I am so thankful we got to see her speak. Her story has always been moving, but seeing her live was one in a lifetime. I have her newest book, Untamed and I look forward to reading it real soon.
